Honguera, or "Mushroomgrower" in Spanish, is a design object that exists at the intersection of artistry, functionality, and productivity, pushing the boundaries of how we engage with nature in domestic spaces.
Our team has meticulously designed and 3D printed a clay mushroom holder that promotes the cultivation and appreciation of diverse fungal species within the home. By integrating algorithmic design and coding, we developed a system where the object is controlled through a set of parameters, yet remains open to infinite iterations—each version a unique form as varied as the fungi it supports.
This piece not only redefines our interaction with living systems but also showcases the potential of digital fabrication in creating one-of-a-kind, purposeful artifacts.
