ALGORITMIC AIDED LANSDCAPING
ALGORITMIC AIDED LANSDCAPING
This project aims to re-think the design process through which we approach urbanism and architecture, proposing a post-anthropocentric perspective.
We believe that city-making should move beyond human-centered practices, drawing instead from the intelligence embedded in topological formations and natural systems shaped by biological processes.
As part of our research, we trained a generative adversarial network (GAN) using aerial imagery of Salta, Argentina.
By re-scripting the underlying code, we explored the emergent logics of these formations and how they could inspire new approaches to urban construction.
For the 2022 edition of Dutch Design Week, we presented this work—Algorithmic Aided Landscaping—as a speculative video installation at Evoluon in Eindhoven, showcasing the potential of AI to transform landscape and city design.
